The Acer Swift 3 is available in 13-, 14-, and 15-inch screen resolution and is one of Acer’s more economical price ranged, rather than premium, options. However, the current Acer Swift 3 ultraportable is a shockingly high-end piece in this price segment. At $350 less than a similar Dell XPS 13, it shares that Editors’ Choice in bypassing the usual 16:9 screen aspect ratio. In the case of the 13.5-inch Acer, the display has a square shaped 3:2 ratio, which the firm claims provides you 18% extra altitude for browsing and text reading. It has 16GB of RAM, a 1TB NVMe solid-state drive, Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI connectors, and weighs 2.62 pounds less than the Dell.

Our Swift 3 test machine (model SF313-52-78W6) is Acer’s first arrival in Intel’s “Engineered for Mobile Performance” (nee Project Athena) contest for laptops with extended battery life, instant waking up, such as “Hey Cortana” vocal wake, and Modern Standby e – mail delivery while asleep with the lid closed. (Its lack of a touch panel, however, defies one of the Project Athena objectives.)
