Dell Chromebook 11 Review
Some schools and parents rave by the Apple iPad, but Chromebooks have a huge popularity as go-to computing tools for school-age children, owing to strong support from charitable organizations and school districts. Many of them choose specialized devices, such as the Dell Chromebook 11 (model 3100; $314.99 as tested). This low-cost, no-frills laptop with an 11.6-inch screen is almost what a child’s computer should be. Aside from some Wi-Fi difficulties we encountered during testing, it’s the greatest Chromebook you can buy for your kids without breaking the bank.
In some kind of an emergency, any basic Chromebook can function as a homework and virtual education platform, and there are plenty of them. However, many laptops in the $200-to-$300 price range that run Google’s stripped-down operating system feel cheaply built and lack capabilities. The Chromebook 11 is one of the few machines in its price range that is truly enjoyable to use.
