Dell Precision 5560 Review
You would like the Precision 7560 if you do want to chew through large datasets or handle vast CGI rendering projects using Dell’s best 15.6-inch portable workstation. But what if you want something a little lighter to take than that 5.42-pound powerhouse? The Precision 5560 (from $1,839) is built on the beautiful XPS 15 (9510) frame and weighed only 4.3 pounds. It lacks the peak capability of the 7560—max RAM is 64GB rather than 128GB, for example—but it has more processor cores and better graphics than its rival, the HP ZBook Firefly 15 G8. As our Editors’ Choice winner among compact portable workstations, the Precision succeeds the Firefly. The Precision 5560, like other genuine workstations, has independent software vendor (ISV) certificates for specific programmes.
It’s better suited for 2D or light 3D computer-aided design (CAD) than intensive 3D depiction, virtual reality, or computer science, as the 7560 and its peers are, but it outperforms the ZBook Firefly 15 with an eight-core versus quad-core cpu and an Nvidia RTX A2000 professional GPU, which is three steps well above Nvidia T500 in the HP.
