VAIO SX14 (2021) Review
The current VAIO SX14 (starts at $1,249; $1,949 as tested) lacks the old-school VGA connector of the 2019 variant, but it offers enough of connection for a foldable notebook. It also packs a lot of power and flexibility into a 2.54-pound chassis, so anyone looking for a 14-inch slimline should take a look at it. The VAIO SX14 is still a touch costly and falls short of favourites such as our regular Editors’ Choice victor, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9.
Although it is no longer a Sony trademark, VAIO (a phonetic translation for “Visual Audio Intelligent Organizer”) still is a notebook device with three variants: the premium-priced lightweight VAIO Z, made of carbon fibre, and the 12.5-inch and 14-inch SX machines. The SX14 starts at $1,249 and comes with an Intel Core i5 CPU and a non-touch full HD (1,920-by-1,080-pixel) screen but our configuration is priced at $1,5490.00 and has Intel Core i7-1195G7 processor and a touch screen with 1920 by 1080 pixel resolution.
